Goron:


Believability: 10/10 - Goron, as ever, I am captivated by the way you manage to bring humour to all of your roleplays in new and interesting ways rather than repeating one-liners and recycled jokes. I can’t fault you in the way your character acts, speaks or just is.

Powerplay: -3/-10 – From the standpoint of a judge, and as controversial as it may be, I didn’t see any major powerplay and understood exactly what you meant when you responded to Yoshi’s second light attack. However, when you began using the magnetised console, you failed to mention what effect that would have had on the shuriken spread about the place. Only minor markdowns for minor things.

Another thing I was surprised to find is hat you had the Carbine of Initiate Fears about your person. Exactly where did this weapon come from, and how was Goron able to move about so easily with it, even crashing into a tree, back first..?

Personality/Flair: 9/10 – Funny, witty and full of one-liners. I think I should, to be fair take the point off from here for the following comment. I know Goron is an elite genetically engineered being, but, individually, I wasn’t sure if he really would have known about the Faraday theory. Maybe I’m misjudging this, but the mark comes off anyway.
Aside from that, I see no fault.

Cleverness/Inventiveness: 15/20 – The Faraday theory was by far one of the smartest reactions to a situation. It is rare to see a scientific solution to a large problem. The way that you responded to Yoshi’s few attacks were certainly pleasing. However, I felt that there was a certain pazumph missing if you understand, and I feel that as an experienced roleplayer, you could have given a slight bit more for Yoshi to react to.

Grammar/Spelling: 9/10 – I noticed a few tiny mistakes here and there, but nothing major or of too much concern.

Yoshimasa:


Believability: 10/10 – I’ve little to go on when judging you, so, for a second round of judging, you seem to have improved based on last time, although, this time you had something more of a challenge. You remained completely believable, if minus the ooc, although, you did have to clarify what was going on. You didn’t let Goron steal all of limelight; you made a few bright sparks yourself. Well done.

Powerplay: -0/-10 – I couldn’t really fault you on anything. You took most of the hits yourself. You reacted to everything that happened in the arena and provide Goron with something of a challenge.

Personality/Flair: 9/10 – Intelligent, witty and certainly with two sides to his coin. I think with a little more diverse roleplay, your character is quite immersing. Going for more of laid back approach is a clever way to go about roleplaying. I would have liked to see a little more, but you faulted on nothing.

Cleverness/Inventiveness: 15/20 – Being in control for the majority of the situation, and having the advantage immersing the arena in light isn’t something I’d thought of before until you brought it up. Sure solar flares and flash bangs spring to mind, but, a constant stream of light is a good move. I commend you on taking advantage of Goron’s need for shadows too. Again, in some situations, I felt you could have done more, but then, your character comes across as peaceful and not sneaky.

Grammar/Spelling: 9/10 – Only the occasional mistake here and there. Spelling was perfect as far as I could tell, nothing jumped out at me.

Total: 43/50


Result: Yoshimasa wins based on points criteria. I must note that for a knockout, it has to be clearly shown in roleplay, rather than hinted towards, so on that front, you would not have won. Were Yoshimasa to fall over into unconsciousness providing you hit the right spot and no last minute movements from Yoshimasa, you would have won on knockout.


Review:

A funny roleplay that had me chuckling through the better part of it, if I didn’t know better you two regularly do routines together. Your styles. Although different based on previous roleplays, merge incredibly well together, even if you were taking on one another.

The fight was at its best basic with some inventive ideas put to work. What really makes this roleplay stand out is the character within each of you and your creations that really drives it. This is certainly one you should keep somewhere to look back in time to com and compare to your styles.

Although I must voice my complaints on several things, not to change the score, but to simply clarify myself. And of course I need to nitpick GBE. Cmon, that's the fun part.

So now I will judge your judging.

Believability: No complaints... why would I complain about this?

Powerplay: Seems like you're really trying to get something to mark me down with by saying I neglected to mention the effect of the shuriken. If anything, they would have been pushed away from the console just as the light was, therefore creating a negligible effect.

Goron's carried the Carbine ever since he got it during CD2. Shoulder strap. I also technically never put my back to the tree, I merely "touched" it.

Personality/Flair: GORON training would have trained both the body and the mind. Not to mention that my wiki profile states Goron's IQ of 120.

Cleverness/Inventiveness: 15/20 – No complaints.

Grammar/Spelling: No Problem

Thanks, Goron. Congratulations on your loss/win, too. And I guess its only fair to follow suit, as I have some things to say as well.

On Goron's score. The Powerplay judgment is a bit rough. Maybe one point off, but three? That's extreme. I also don't see where you're coming from with the major Cleverness/Inventiveness markdown.

On my own score. I have no problems except with Cleverness/Inventiveness. I don't see where there was more I could have done. If I had been more aggressive, or had taken more of the strike opportunities, I would not have been staying true to character. And I didn't even see any other opportunities. I fail to see the justification here.
