((I know we're on a break and all, but I just want to get this post up before I forget. Hope no one minds, and it'll provide a good starting point for round two))

Riding atop the rampaging beast Brawn, Addman found himself a lot higher up and had gained a useful vantage point over the battlefield. As the pair rounded the corner of The Citadel, the carnage he'd previously missed soon became apparent now that he was in close proximity. Brawn's change of direction as they rounded the wall swayed the relatively light muppet to the side, and he gripped onto his mount tighter trying to hold himself in position.

Once he stabalised himself, he knew he would have to make himself a bit taller, and attempt to gain every inch of height he could so as to improve the chances of his own success. Pushing himself up with one foot whilst holding onto Brawn's sturdy neck for balance, Addman managed to raise to his feet. He held on for a few seconds to make sure he'd correctly positioned his footing, and had become used to the general swaying Brawn's back made as he moved through the frozen tundra beneath. Once confident enough, he let go and was stood atop Brawn, compensating his balance when needed.

Keeping them positioned as near to the wall as possible, Brawn was fast approaching one of the wall's security turrets. Addman drew his rifle, which appeared to crackle almost with delight since the lightning cartidge had not been used for some time.

"Brawn stop!" Addman commanded, hoping not to get into a position where they'd be open to all the turrets. He aimed and promptly pulled the trigger, sending a thick bolt of vibrant, crackling electricity, hoping to either destory the turret, or disable it via short circuit.

((Okay, I'm reviewing this thread in it's entirety to fill in a few Council members, and I've come across something that really confuses me.

Where exactly am I? (I'd include Cloud, but he's done a Poochie and abandoned me to save his planet)

After my post where I finally cut the door open and barge in with my locusts and Cloud's empty shell of a body, Goron mentions hurling a fragmentation grenade at my locusts. Goron is in the Great Hall, which is a part of the Citadel's interior. Prior to this post, he mentions going there through the Hangar to head me and Cloud off. Obviously he believes that the door that I am cutting through leads there.

However, later on when I ask for a description of the room that I've enetered, Shine tells me that I have entered the stairwell for one of the Turret Gunner Rooms.

Now, Cloud thinks that it is the door the one that Lunagon and Whiteoak went through, but Goron seems to think otherwise - why would he deliberately go somewhere totally different to head us off? Considering that we seemed to have headed to what is essentially a dead end, it seems even more idiotic and pointless.

I had very limited knowledge of the Citadel going into this, and I am feeling very lost now.

Could somebody please explain to me once and for all where I am? I would prefer a diagram to be included in said explanation if that's at all possible.))

I cannot speak for Goron and what he intended, but this is how I have been picturing things.

The Citadel is divided into several sections which are not directly connected so getting into one section does not give one immediate access to all of it. Lunagon and I are in a front section with a dual stairwell up to two gunnery towers which defend the front half of the Citadel. I think you entered there and are attacking, or at least isolating, us there.

Goron came in through a previously secured door and I think he threw his fragmentation grenade into the courtyard to kill the locusts there. I, at least, assumed you had LARGE numbers of locusts, so even if you had several with you, there were probably many more still being a problem in the courtyard.

We have an old map at our site, but as we have played a few RPs here, and in our own forums, we have had action involving some rooms/areas not on the map. We are in the process of formalizing that so we all share a common understanding among ourselves about what's where.

I'm not sure I want to give you a map, as you wouldn't know just what we have or where. You should have to discover it for yourselves. But it is only fair for us to pre-decide all that so we can't just make up a room when we need one

Of course the problem with that is, you could still make up rooms, etc. and we wouldn't be able to know about it Rolling Eyes

I've recently gotten the following PM from Goron:

Goron40 wrote:
Sorry about the late response, I've been on vacation.

I'm assuming the doors your at are the ones to the Great Hall, and I never did add any stairs, we just kinda placed them where needed...

Seems to me that this is needless confusion. If we'd had some kind of map to begin with (even a vague one of the exterior of the citadel that only shows what you can see from the outside) that everybody was going by, we could all easily see who was heading where, and now it seems that it's just one person's word against another. If you don't want us to know where we're going then at least come to the same conclusion for yourselves Confused

Goron's post is quite different from how you've interpretted it Shine, I can't really see how one could read it that way. He quite clearly states that my locusts are already in the Great Hall, shortly after my post in which I've entered the broken door and ordered my locusts to swarm through, and makes no mention of the courtyard.

Goron40 wrote:
Goron burst into the Great hall from the Hanger, only to run into hundreds of Locusts flying everywhere. Immediately reconsidering his position, Goron dove back through the door he had passed through, staying in the great hall long enough only to leave the swarm an explosive surprise.

Safely back in the hanger, Goron dropped the grenade pin to the floor next to Shadow and awaited the impending explosion.

It's pretty clear that he's not opening any doors in the courtyard, I only wish that I'd read this one properly and sooner so as to avoid all of this confusion. Since this is partially my fault, I suppose I can't really be too upset - sorry to everybody who's now having to endure this.

I'm sorry if this annoys you Shine, but I'm going to side with Goron on this one, simply because the Great Hall was the location that I was first placed at, and it makes the most sense if I am there. If I enter the Great Hall, he has headed me off as he intended to, and plans to prevent me from getting any further. If I enter the Turret stairwell, Goron has needlessly put himself far away from the action, and shown us that he knows nothing about the Citadel's infrastructure. Not only does it make no sense, it makes him seem like a total idiot.

I have not done too much that has had a significant impact on the RP as a whole from where I am currently standing (the Turret stairwell), and so it should not cause too many problems for me to fix things up. I'll go back and edit my previous posts (basically leaving a big note saying to ignore them), then put a new post reacting to Goron up after this.

With a sudden loud clang, HollowEyes realized that he was through the door. And not a moment too soon either, as seconds later his GORON console began to emit a loud crackling sound followed by a puff of smoke and it's beam sword fizzled away to nothing. Not one to waste his equipment, HollowEyes put it back into a storage charm (he's also not too knowledgeable when it comes to machinery, and is most likely hoping that it may either fix itself or be rebooted or something). Fortunately for him, it had merely overheated, and would be functional again later on.

HollowEyes didn't understand why, but Whiteoak was obviously very distracted with something as he had forgotten all about the Parasitian Second-in-Command and Cloud. Not that anybody was complaining about that, it just seemed a bit bizarre...

"<Everybody into the Citadel! Bring Cloud's body!>"

HollowEyes, the swarm of Locust Fiends and Cloud's body all poured through the hole in the door and into the Citadel, HollowEyes assuming that Cloud was following after them. Now that they were inside, HollowEyes had no idea where they were, but he did know that they needed to cause as much chaos as possible, if only to allow his fellow EC members the opportunity to get inside too.

Before he can issue a command, he is suddenly greeted by the explosion of a Fragmentation Grenade. The locusts in the immediate vicinity of it would've dropped like flies, were they not caught by other fiends to be used as barely-living shields. HollowEyes fortunately didn't need to order them to protect him, for there were enough locusts between him and the blast that he didn't feel any of it.

With about a quarter of the locust fiends dead or too wounded to remain summoned for much longer, HollowEyes shrieks an order to them in fiendish. "<Scatter! Eat everything that can be eaten!>" They in turn shriek with joy at such a delicious order. HollowEyes suddenly realized his mistake and added "<no EC members!>", causing the fiends to drop Cloud's body where it was and leave it to find something that they were allowed to eat.

HollowEyes quickly moved to pick up his fellow Councilman's torso, which had collapsed in a rather undignified position, and shoved it back through the hole in the door to Cloud.

"You'd best get back into yourself Cloud, looks like somebody's been waiting for us."

He had intended to report his progress to the rest of the Council now that they'd entered the Citadel, but his communications device emitted nothing but white noise, no doubt due to Guardian interference of some sort.

"Sorry, had to release my stored magic. I may have given the rest of the EC access to the inside of this place, unless of course the Guardians see my creation first."

"Let's hope that they don't." HollowEyes replied as Cloud returned to his body. Listening intently, he couldn't hear anything other than the sound of screeching locust fiends, which was actually pretty loud and would probably mask whatever noise their hidden assailant might be making. HollowEyes' silent mental damning of the fiends was interrupted by a surprised outburst from Cloud.

"What's happened to my ear! Damn your Locust Fiends and your inability to control them properly."

"Oh, uh..." HollowEyes was attempting to think of a better excuse than 'it was like that before, wasn't it?' or 'I'm sure that it was a Guardian plot of some kind' as he desperately prayed for some kind of distraction to make Cloud forget all about his missing ear. As most of us know, life is usually never so convenient, but for once, it was, and Cloud's crazy watch began to beep loudly. Forgetting his beef with HollowEyes, Cloud turns his attention to the watch, and the holograph being projected by it. He then looks to the sky and whistles loudly, causing HollowEyes to feel even more confused.

"My world is in danger, I must go and protect it," Cloud said hesitantly, "I'll be back shortly."

A gigantic and most likely magical dragon descends from the heavens to retrieve Cloud, and promptly leaves.

"... Okay then." HollowEyes said in response, too stunned to do so whilst Cloud was still there. The Parasitian Second-in-Command suddenly remembered that he was deep in enemy territory and was being targetted by a mystery Guardian. "<Eat! Eat everything that is not a Council member!>" He shrieks again to his hungry minions, who have begun to chow down on just about anything that isn't made of metal.

((There we go, I'll be ready to continue from here.

On another note, I notice that we've knocked out two turrets (one has been melted to slag by Furnace, the other was manually shut down by Goron), and Addman is about to take out a third.

When we were first introduced to these turrets we were told that there were two and the top corners of the gate and two on the corners of the south side of the citadel. Whiteoak is controlling the two on the west side whilst Lunagon is trying to figure out how to control the two on the east side (they are on auto-fire until he takes the controls, I assume). Which of these turrets have been destroyed so far?))

I think Goron is confused, there is no door from the Hanger into the Great Hall, and to this point no EC member has gotten into the Great Hall, its door is all the way across the courtyard from the front gates and bolted shut from the inside. No locusts are in the Great Hall.

Goron, on p 8, pointed at those doors to the Great Hall, and told you that the stairs were there, but they aren't there. There are other sets of stairs in the building, but the stairwell to the Gunnery Turrets are just inside the gates and on either side. The penguins who came inside and died trying to get to the guns and deactivate them would have gone to these stairs. When I asked YOU which doors you were cutting through, these are the doors YOU indicated, (the ones I pulled Lunagon through.)

You might want to wait with the major edits untill this gets sorted out, although it may be sorted out, as we are almost done with our Guardian description of the Citadel over on our forums

I never once told you that. If you feel otherwise, please direct me to the post in which I did.

It seems to me that you're saying that Goron, the guy who made the place up, is totally wrong. Why is it that you seem to be the only one with such intimate knowledge of every detail of the Citadel, Shine? It was a mild annoyance at first but now it's really starting to bug me.

Here we have Goron, who doesn't know where anything is, TheBlackSoul, who hasn't figured out how to operate his turret controls in several pages now (something that he should easily understand if the Citadel was developed as a group effort, as you seem to be saying that it is), even Coolpikaaa's made a few mistakes here and there (failing to notice that you'd shut the gates a few posts ago, etc.)... Does anybody besides yourself know what is going on?

I've noticed that almost every time something major happens, it has happened in your posts - the gates closing, the turrets activating, security lockdown... It seems like we're simply fighting Shine in a fortress built, designed and run by Shine, guest-starring a few Guardians.

I'm not going to get into an argument with you over this Shine. Sort this out in your private forums please, I will wait to hear from Goron what the final decision is.

On page #12 I asked a question:

Quote:
((I just want to be clear about just which door you think you are through? If you cut through the door Whiteoak and Lunagon went through, you find yourself in a landing at the bottom of a narrow stair well.....

I thought I was asking you (3kul), as you were the one cutting, but Cloud was apparently the one who answered:

Cloud:
Quote:
((As far as I know it was the door that Whiteoak opened for Lunagon))

-------------

I don't know that it is true to say that Goron made up the Citadel. Goron made a map when we first started. We have had a few RP threads since then in which we used and developed other rooms and multiple floors. Goron didn't participate in some of these. However, I am basing my door answer on the original map. There is NO door between the Hanger and the Great Hall, (on Goron's map) and the door to the Great Hall had not been breached up to the point in which is was to your advantage to change things.

Don't get personal. I wish the other Guardians were more active, but they aren't. The EC makes multiple posts to our occasional one or two. I thought you folks were looking for a fun thread, so I have been trying to give you opponents to play with/against. Perhaps I was wrong, perhaps what you realy wanted was to soothe your ego about the olympics.

This thread has degenerated into nit-picking about the action rather than enjoying telling a good story and having to think creatively to solve problems.

I am going to bring up the compulsion wave again., If we allow it, we should all just open the gates lay down and die. YOU WIN.
That sucks and it is a MAJOR powerplay. There is nothing we can do about it. It keeps us all hiding, so we can't fight you except from a distance and from behind doors.
Why would you want to do that It takes all of the fun out of it, it just allows you to "win". I went with it originally to keep the thread moving, and I assumed you would use it responsibly, with some limits or vulnerability. You did not do that, so I am changing my position on this.

Unless you make changes to the complusion wave, I for one will play from here on out as if it did not exist.

I'm well and truly sick of you portraying me like this Shine. I'm not nearly as egotistical as you make me out to be, please stop acting like I have some huge grudge against you.

Shine wrote:

Let's re-cap. We paused to allow the overseers to check over this thread for errors and whatnot (you still haven't selected one, if you could do that soon that'd be much appreciated), and upon re-reading the thread I found a few things that I wasn't clear on (still waiting on finding out which turrets are destroyed too btw). I ask you and Goron about them and I still get two totally different answers, so I go with the one that makes the most sense to me.

It's fair enough if you don't think it to be correct, you are entitled to your own opinion. However, this is not 'EC vs Shine', this is 'EC vs Guardians' - as a group, you must be able to agree on where I am. If the other Guardians come back and say "yeah, Shine's right 3kul, you're in the turret stairwell," then that's where I'll be, but if they disagree with you then I'll be in the Great Hall (I left my old posts up and only strikethrough'd so that no matter what, I'm ready to go when we start back up). The way I see it I don't need to wait for you at all as I already know your take on the matter, and I can't imagine you changing your mind any time soon.

As a bit of a side note though, this is one of the reasons as to why I'm under the impression that you're running much of the show here Shine, because aside from you, nobody else seems to mind where I am (even I don't mind where I end up Razz).

But whatever, hopefully we'll be able to solve the mystery of the lost 3kul soon enough XD

As you yourself have proven several times already, the pheromone 'wave' is not unbeatable, it can be avoided and countered without very much difficulty at all. And as has been said many times by Net and myself, it will only work on you if you inhale it.

Shine wrote:

As it is in fact far more limited than your own compulsion-based abilities, I'd appreciate you not giving us such a hard time about it.

(Post summary for those of you who can't be bothered my long and no doubt boring posts (Shine, you're not allowed to skip down here Wink):
1. I am not harboring a massive grudge against the Guardians, and I don't appreciate Shine acting like I am.
2. I understand why Shine believes that I am in the turret stairwell, but I will wait for the rest of the Guardians to see if they all agree with this.
3. Net's girl-weapon's pheromone 'wave' is in fact very limited and easy to avoid (provided that you employ a little creative thinking, or are simply in the right place), and in my opinion cannot possibly be considered as a powerplay.)

Look, 3kul, Shine, Shut the Hell Up. This is an RP thread, if you want to argue about stuff do it in PMs. Don't like the compulsion wave? PM me. Don't like 3kul's portrayal of Goron's Beam Sword? PM him. Don't get me wrong, I like both of you, but this childish bickering is getting beyond a joke. I'm sure the both the EC and Guardians just want a decent, fun, mature RP between themselves, and I'm sure they're willing to do it with or without either of you.

Letting stuff like this go on any longer is only going to cause a divide between the EC and the Guardians, and if this keeps going on I'm more than willing to lobby DP to close this thread rather than risk a perfectly good relationship.

So basically: Sit down, shut up and start acting like adults, or don't bother acting at all.

Hi. I'm Abidusray. I'm your overseer. One of them, anyway. I have some advice for everyone here.

Calm down.

I don't want to hear anything else about nit-picking, who does what, or any more finger pointing. I've just read through fourteen pages of posts, and I've compiled a list of characters and fouls. In the interest of preventing public humiliation, I'm going to send the list to 3kul, because he's the one who asked me to do the overseeing. Anyone who has fouls will receive a PM from me.

Now, here's what I want you guys to do:

1) Describe the Citadel. All its rooms, weapons, systems, everything. From this point on, there can be no changes made to it.

2) Figure out where 3kul is. Before you continue posting.

As for clarifications on certain points:

1) The Citadel has filtration systems inside only. Anyone inside it would not be aware that there were any particles being filtered out unless they were looking at the monitors that displayed it. Having an alert of some kind that goes off every time something is filtered is ridiculous -- it'd be going off all the time.

2) Forget about the beam cutters. We've established that they can cut through anything, and it takes them longer to cut through harder things.

3) The Shock and Awe orb did not happen. (fixed)

4) The Citadel jams radio communications only inside of it.

If anyone has an issue with these, send me a private message in a civilized fashion. Anyone who demands that I change something is going to be ignored.

Edit! Netdroid corrected me: I somehow replaced "Shock and Awe" orb with "Compulsion Wave." I'm not entirely sure what happened there. To clarify: The compulsion wave absolutely did happen, the Shock and Awe orb did not.

Excuse the double-post, but Guardians, are you ready to start again yet? I was under the impression that you'd be choosing an overseer as well, but as nobody seems to have done so, does this mean that we're all happy with just Abidusray as our 'judge'? If not then would you mind hurrying it up a little please?

We're ready whenever you lot are Smile

Now I'm triple-posting, which kinda makes me feel like a regular leannewoods Razz

The holiday season is over Guardians, so hopefully everybody's a little less busy right now. We're ready to get this thing back up and running whenever you are.
