Sorry, with certain things going on I got a little annoyed. Then I had a look at this and got the impression that people valued the item and monetary system over the thing that brought them here in the first place. Danikats explanation makes much more sense

I just started up a phpbb 3.0.1 site. It took me several weeks to get it working properly.
It's a wonderful interface (particularly the admin cp) but I have to say that I'd rather have the system we have already. The bugs with phpbb 3 have turned out to be downright unholy. It frustrates me to no end, but then, I'm no php oracle like the Admins of Blackstar.
All in all, though, I have to say stick with what we have. Public interest will keep the mods fresh.

I say no.
Granted, I never did like earning credits, I never did like getting items. The only one actually worth getting is that orb of clear viewing, and to get it you have to take out a monster loan and never pay it, thus practicly disableing the money system for you. I dont like this place trying to be world of warcraft having to either grind or pay someone to grind for you (or in this case, you just spam yourself silly to get credits and make your posts just a little bit longer)
But I disgress. I would rather keep with the current version of PHPBB then upgrade. It can be a Donkey's Tail, Things can get messy with having the old version (And thus we would need to start COMPLEATLY fresh) and I bet you there will be even MORE bugs with moving to PHPBB3 and readding thoose pesky tables... stupid sql...
The big question in the end is, do we want to risk starting at SQUARE 1-1, or do we want to continue at SQUARE 5-5, The square with the cool giant lava pillers and mecanized robot who... Wait, thats metal slug! I personally say that the features are a very nice touch, and a fun way to kill time. |
