This place may look like a perk, but it's not. It's to allow the Sensei's to communicate on issues that affect the way all of us judge for belts.

Example: If there is a question about if something is submitable, or if there is a pupil trying to do two belts concurrently. In the first case, we can discuss it as a group without interference. In the second, it allows us to get together and post what said pupil has used for belt submission, as to help us enforce the rule that you can't submit the same material for two belts concurrently.

I just wanted to tell you I (or DP) will change the color of each person's entry to match the belt color when it's awarded. That way, everyone can keep track about which belts are still pending on an Admin's attention.

Ok, I know I said no percs, but you get one.

Me and Embri have a special Importation License, called the Importation License Gold, that we give out only for special occasions. One such occasion is when a person reaches Brown belt, they automatically get one.

The advantage to a gold license versus all the others is that it is the only way to get a special item. Special Items, as you should know, are the one-of-a-kinds that are perfect for unique weapons and accesories. This REALLY helps out the Mantis, but it could be useful to all of us...and if not, you can always sell it.

However, because you guys automatically went to black belt, bypassing all the rest, you got gypt one of these little beauties. So, to be fair, me and Embri has decided to award you one Importation License Gold. Use it as you see fit.

And Net, you should make yourself a Whoopie Cushion of Doom.

Items marked special will only have one of themselves ever made. It's more policy than codework, but it still makes them very valuable.

Status, mostly ... though if the item system ever comes into play, I'm going to suggest a "Breakable" attribute along with the "One Use" items (like charms).

Just because at that point it would make the "Special" Items truly special... unbreakable, aka you never have to buy a new one.

Also having weapons eventually break would give our economy another nudge, aside from being realistic.

Ok, so the previous extremely high importation licence isn't as special, because I thought that was also supposed to be a one of a kind expensive item....?

Aaaaaanyways, this means one of my special item plans is now going to come into play....

Oh, btw, what happens if say member x reaches all brown belt requirements, and then can no longer gain a brown belt after that, and can no longer use their gold importation licences, and, say, just for sake of argument, they can't buy one of another person, is there no way to gain another gold importation licence....?

Theoretically, one can obtain one golden importation license for every belt.

I know that Net, what I'm asking is, how do you get one once you've achieved all brown belt status in every style...? How would you get your hands on one, other than buying one from another member... Considering how long it will take for all to achieve the required level....

Net is correct.

You can theoretically get a Gold License for every Brown Belt you achieve.

Also, there will be other hand outs of Gold Licenses by the Admins for as special rewards. (Which occasions, I can't tell you... )


Basically, Gold Licenses should be difficult, but not impossible to obtain. They are awarded for good deeds, be they RP based or otherwise. I'm not talking assisting little old ladies across the street, but exceptional things which improve Blackstar as a whole. Sort of a step up from the Dojo Service Medal, if you will.

Seriously, The point of special items is for them to be uber-rare. If someone has a special item, you should go "Wow, they must be great."...not "another one?"

As Embri said, there are other ways of getting them, but you have to do something really, REALLY worth it. So far I know of only one person who has done something for Blackstar to that level.
