I'd like to leave the guessing open for those who don't go to Tooboe Ookami or already know my Tooboe Ookami profile. I'd like to see if anyone can guess who I am everywhere else, as Cheetah is a rare username right now and I don't seem to know anyone here that will have seen me as Intyalle.

BTW, I've been looking at the different styles, and am a bit confused as to what ones I should be going for once I get to red. As far as I can tell, I could reasonably play five of the six main styles, but would rather not just go straight to the chameleon belts.

Any tips, people?

As for belts, well, best thing to do (so I hear) is simply start RPing and then work out which one/ones you like best once ya reach Red Belt. Least, that's as I understand it

I've done heaps of RPing before, I have a pretty good idea what characters I can play. That's the problem - I don't seem to have a predominant style there. The only one that I don't think I could play is Monkey; I'm really just not that kind of person.

Maybe Tiger might fit my most recent characters (elementalists, lycanthropes, Shifters) best, but my Elves could go in Mantis or Owl, I have been known to make theives (or similar) that would easily fit Fox, and while the co-operation part of Spider might present a problem in real life, being an author means I have the creativity down to a fine art.

Well, it's entirely up to you. You can go for more than one belt if you feel like it though, you can switch between 'em or mix and match if you wanted. You don't have to go for Chameleon straight away, or at all, if you don't want to.

I may have a Chameleon belt myself but that didn't stop me from going for Mantis as well, as you can see . It's all up to what you feel like

Okey-day, then. I was just asking for advice, as I think almost all the styles look really cool but would rather not end up pushing myself to achieve something I can't, or at least not easily. Being somewhat of a perfectionist and a pedant, this is all too likely to happen.

As for the styles, if you're really struggling to choose one perhaps you should check the requirements for advancement too? They're usually a pretty accurate guide for how your RPing would go as a belt bearer of that style.

I made an RP, too. It's over in The Wilds and is called Eerie Silence. All the RPs at the top of the board look too big for me to really join in well at this stage...

It's a little tricky, you can't just look at a character and say that you'll definately be a particular style. Keep in mind that belts are for styles, not characters. HollowEyes could just as easily be a Tiger style if I chose to play him that way, but because of the way I RP he's Mantis style.

At a glance though... Well, without any supernatural abilities or magic you definately aren't Tiger style, and you don't seem to be too weapons focused so I wouldn't really call you a Mantis style either. As you've already said that you aren't Monkey style that knocks that one out too, along with Chameleon (as Chameleon style encompasses all of the styles).

So that leaves us with Fox, Owl or Spider. You'd probably be comfortable with any of those, but personally I'd say that Sabrille seems to lean towards the Fox style. By 'lean' I mean that if you were to push for that style you'd probably do pretty well at it, being a shapeshifter would help you quite a bit and she seems to have the makings of the kind of attitude that might suit a Fox (though that's just my own interpretation).

You'd probably do well asking a few other people about it too (though as Swix says, you've got a bit of time before you have to worry about choosing a particular style).

Being me, I'll worry anyway. And because I will probably end up playing more than one style depending on the character I use, it will probably be simpler just to see what style people think that my characters personally would fit into.
