Anything you wanted to say in the Marketplace but couldn't say because of the special rules? Post it here.

3kul: Are you going to stock up on Vexing Fox charms? They're very handy IMO.

I would like to know if we are allowed to "retire" items that we sell in our stores. - i.e. stop stocking them and remove the listing, without taking any sold items out of people's inventories. I'd like to introduce new critters every once in an while, so that they can aquire some value for those who purchase one - limited runs, basically. After all, no one wants to run around with exactly the same equipment as every other person, right?

I would believe that it is within possibility to avoid restocking them. The removal from store shelves may prove more difficult, but I must remind myself that php was never within my mastery.

Hopefully, the EC will be able to use their stores here very soon.

I think I will stock that one too Net. Whilst I'm on the topic of charm samples, as I've mentioned on other occassions won't be putting up all of HollowEyes charms, but I will be putting up samples for charms he doesn't have, to add a little variety.

And Embri, I plan on doing what HisLordship suggested, which is not always restocking. I'll probably have a somewhat regular flow to begin with, but eventually I plan on only restocking certain items at certain times.

Judging by people's store info, not everything is going to be super expensive, so you shouldn't have to wait too long before you can buy stuff Speeder. But for those of you who like to scrimp and save, I've put together a list of the cheapest things that will soon be on the market:

* Nasari's Battle-Axe of the Frozen North = 500 Yen

* Addman's Personalised Lyrics = 500 Cornelius Lives (approx. 565 Yen )

* Nasari's Staff of Hypnosis = 600 Yen

* 3kul's Charm Samples = 600 Cornelius Lives (approx. 678 Yen )

* Shee Mon's Minor Contract = 700 Yen

* Most of Leporidae's Items = Under 1000 Yen (cheapest item is 50 Yen )

There are many more items of course, but these are all for under 1000, and wouldn't be too hard to afford - especially since everyone was given money upon joining Razz Oh, I should mention that my charm samples only start at 600 Cornelius Lives each, some might cost more or less than that depending on their strength, popularity, etc.

Glad to hear retiring items is a possibility... wouldn't do to oversaturate the market, now would it?

I must admit I'm quite new to the whole store concept, so how exactly does this work? I get the fact that each store owner designs their own objects, but who's handling the actual transactions? Does the money simply appear in our accounts, or is there some type of virtual cash register where it gets held? Do we have any way of tracking who bought what? Sorry for all the questions; I'm too curious for my own good, sometimes.

Yes, the money just appears in your account.

No there is no virtual cash register

No there is no way of tracking who buys what.

Basically, the customer goes up to the stores link, goes to the store they wish to buy stuff from, select the quantity of whatever item they wish to purchase, and clicks buy. The money is then taken from their "On Hand" funds (the number next to your posts), and put into the store owner's on hand fund.

For RP items, they will appear in your items, according to whatever stock you request (crud...need to put that into the template). Click the checkbox next to the items you wish to move into your store, then go down to the drop box and select "Add items to ..." (where ... is your store), then hit "Go" or whatever the button next to the drop box says. Then a screen will come up asking how much of your inventory you want moved into the stores, and for what price. FIll out that form, then hit Submit, and the items are in your store.

Services are a bit different. To add these to your store, go to your store, go to the drop box, and select "Add services", then hit go. It will take you to a page with a dropdown box containing all your services. Select the service you wish to add, the quantity you wish to add to your store, and it's price, and it's moved (rather instantly) to your store!

Okay, that sounds like it would work.

I don't quite get this part:

Do you mean that when a store owner creates a new item, it will appear in their Items inventory, and then you move it from there to your store?

Are there maximum sizes for our stores? Limits on how much of any one item we can stock?

Yes, and as far as I know, your store can hold as many items as you can stuff in there.

Ah, ok then.

And Embri/DP: There -is- a limit to the amount of an item you can stuff in your store, and a limit to how many items. The former is set by the store mod, and I believe it to be around 9 million billion. But I don't actually know. The later is dependant on the amount of webspace our webmaster has left Wink
