War Rock

Any of you who have traversed the JRC chat recently have probablly heard the name "War Rock" mentioned (by me telling you to shut up most likely).

War Rock is a Online Multiplayer FPS (although it's advertised as an MMO), similar to Battlefield 2. The graphics are awesome, the gameplay is awesome, the controls are a tad sketchy... well it's still in its Beta testing phase, but a couple of us from JRC have been having a hell of a time playing it. And the best part about it is it's free! And it'll be free even after the commercial launch.

So if you're feeling bored because no one's posting on Blackstar (assuming you don't have a life outside of this site like me), or you love FPS, come check it out. Stop by JRC first and we'll point you to our own personal room where Epothos is kicking my arse.

Eventually the game is going to implement clans and we were planning on making a JRC clan... but that's in the future.

Also, this is Windows XP style, so Maccers.... tough... I don't know about Linux.

Edit: Holy craps. From what I see of it, It looks like a teambased mod like Team Fortress www.planetfortress.com

I wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for this friggin lag! I've consistently got a 100-300 ping (that's not good).

Heh, Doi, Of course you guys didnt make it. I was dead tired when I typed that.

But that IS a good idea of us making a Teamfortress-Like mod or something. From what I know, Team fortress was the first big teamplay mod or something. It was for Quake 1. Then years later, It has been remade on the Halflife 1 Goldsrc Engine, And called "Team Fortress Classic". And then Team fortress 2... Oh, Such a long story, Just google it.

Yes, Quake had it, Half Life had it, even Wolfenstein had it. Q4Fortress is awesome, I played it ages ago and it's much better than the earlier versions. Very Happy

Yes, I would guess so due to the engine Q4 uses. I however, Have team fortress classic for HL1.....

That is a trailer for Team fortress 2 that may come out sometime in febuary or may.....

.... Yes, Team fortress 2 is indeed vaporware (To put the story short, TF2 was going to be for quake 2. Then they changed the engine to the Goldsrc engine, and now this) However, Do you think Valve would have revived the project for nothing? Plus, The whole fact that its going to come out with Halflife 2: Episode 2 helps gaurentee it quite a bit more (As I am 99% sure that that will come out *Groan* If they are going to make a new level pack or stand alone expansion for HL2, They should atleast put some new gameplay twist or gimme some more GUNS!)

By the way... On that TF2 trailer, And in team fortress General, I have 2 favorite classes. Guess what the seccond one is. (As if you cant guess the first one, Then you sir, Are stupid.)
