Item Questions

I was apparenty somewhat inactive when the new feature was added, but suddenly I am randomly getting things thrown into my back pack. I have metal bars, oranges, apples, stone arrows and more.

I don't know how or why I got them, I don't know how to use them, I don't know what they are good for.

Is there some place that explains all this? I have importation licenses but I don't know how to make items of my own, or why I would want to, can't I just RP the creation of a new weapon? and give it to a fellow player anymore?

It does seem like fun, but if someone can make it more understandable I might actually use it. (I'll bet its all explained somewhere, but I couldn't find it.)

Well, I followed the link and it didn't answer ay of my questions. And it caused me to ask even more questions, like

how do I find out what combines with what to make what?

Check the recipes thread (in the Market Place), you should find some combos there.

Some items can be used in RP's, although they tend to be used more often in threads like the evil game and random joke situations.

Some can be used to make other items. usually the more basic items like metal ingots or bits of wood.

Some you have to give to a specific person to gain a service or something. For example you use a talisman to earn a new belt, the importation liscence lets you create your own items to sell in shops ect.

Some I have absolutely no idea what you do with. I have a lot of fruit and a very beautiful emeral necklace I was given for my birthday and no idea what I can do with them.

I have to be honest though, I hardly ever use the items system so I don't really understand it myself.

Oh and you can also use your own items in RP's, they don't have to be part of the item system.

On a related note, when are the Importation Licenses going to be restocked? They're sold out, and I've still got a 'grant' from 3kul that I need to spend before the cops track me down.

I have a buttload of everything, but I still can't hit people with GTILD.

That's what I used to be known for, my crazy laptop skills.

And that's the cause of yet another plot bunny.

Plot bunnies are the bane of a writers life, which is strange because they're also the one thing that keeps them going.

Out there in the so called "real" world they're sometimes called 'ideas' but whoever thought a rediculous name like that was appropriate I'll never know.

Either way they're little things that get into your brain and nag and nag at you until you do something about them. Which usually involves writing something. Then if they're feeling esspecially sadistic they run away and leave you before you get to the ending.
