Simple, easy, effective way to cure our inventory woes

Why not just remove the maximum item limit, or up it to a much bigger amount (IE 10 times what it is right now)? All it seems to do is annoy people, and I can't think of any real technical reason for it (Other than database size, but surely it can't be that big).

Current DB Size according to phpbb: 53.71 MB (confirmed by phpmyadmin)

considering that each character is 1 byte (1 B), that's 56,308,531 characters, give or take.

So Yes, it can be that big. to get a successfull backup, I have to make 6 files!

We're working on it. Actually, ease of use "tweaks" are a large section of the Admin wishlist, at present.

At the moment I'm working on making it happen the only way I can as a non-coder: Activating the "Use Item" feature for more items. The vast majority have at least a small chance of breaking, and it's much more satisfying to use your item than to have to throw it away.

I know a lot of people are laboring under heavy loads of items, but please bear with us. We're trying to add more item handling features as soon as possible.

Speaking of inventories, would it be possible to add a little button to the inventory screen which would let you alphabetize it? I don't like not being able to find things.And the current organizational options are tedious.

You are correct - at present, we can only set user inventory sizes collectively, but it's on the TO DO list to see if we can change that.

EDIT: I don't have the ability to force an alphabetized inventory list, sorry. Sad

You cannot view this yet, but we can now set your inventory size to whatever we choose. This means that soon we'll have board services out that will let you upgrade your inventory size!

Don't expect it to be cheap, however...

You've got 100 slots of stackable inventory now, plus your 100 spaces of Shop space. I daresay that's enough for anyone. (except maybe 3kul...)

Oh, and if the Shops end up being stackable, expect that your "space" will be reduced accordingly, to about 20 different items (though you could have as many multiples of those items as you wanted). Shop size upgrades could also be a possibility, if anyone needs a megamart... Razz

and now you can...at the bottom of your inventory, or any board store for that matter, you can see a link to your inventory, along with a counter that shows how many items you have versus you inventory limit.
