With a great deal of concentration, Emilee positioned another arrow. Taking aim as best she could, she let loose an arrow, feeling a slight 'woosh' noise as it missed its intended target.

Emilee again repeated the process. However, this time her missile impacted the target with a dull thonk.

Emilee tried again, making impact with a second arrow. She grinned and said "It's not too hard to learn if you have a good teacher."

Rai paused for a moment, then beamed. "Heh, thank 'ee kindly." She shuffled her feet in the grass. "I'm not that great...But I did have some practice with a band of theiving archers once."

Rai noted Emi's inquisitive expression, and began the tale. "Well, in my slightly younger days- not that I'm old or anything- I came across a troop of rugged travelers. They were all clothed in black and each carried a bow and quiver, each beautifully made. They needed food, I had some, so I gave it to them. The leader of the band thanked me and told me about them, then allowed me to take part in an archrey contest. I didn't win, but I learned quite a bit."

"Ah, okay." The girl replied, scratching the back of her head. "If you need anything, don't hesitate to give me a call, there's a cobalt dragon that flies frequently over here. Her name's Kiri; she'll always get a message to me."

Rai nodded, then began heading back to the underground bunker. She turned back and waved a few times before she pulled out a strange whistle that was concealed in her outfit. When she blew into it, no sound was emitted.

Or so it would seem...

A large canine with scales bounded out of the surrounding forestry. It had not a lupine pelt, but a lizard's scales. It's ears were draconian like, and two wings of the same nature resided on its back. Rai climbed up and patted the chimera's side; it noted the signal and flew off.
