Town criers congregate at every public intersection across Psychotopia, all announcing some major changes handed down from the Palace.

HEAR YE, HEAR YE!

There are about to be some significant changes in our Dojo. Reactions are bound to be mixed, but due to some recent events, including growth and growing dissent, modifications were needed, and will hopefully be for the best.

1. The Association of Student RP'ers will be disbanded. All members will now automatically be part of the Student group.

2. The Training Dojo will be changed from private to registered access. All members will now be able to view and post in this forum.

3. A new group will be formed, that of the Role Player's Guild.
Entry will require either formal testing by a Moderator, or demonstration of good RPing skills and manners in several RP's.

(No, we're not talking chewing with your mouth closed manners, we're talking about avoiding power playing, showing good story coherency, cooperation and respect for others.)

4. Posting in the Amphitheatere and The Underground Bunker will be restricted to members of the RP Guild, though all Dojodians will be able to view it's contents.

5. Several RP boards, including the Wilds and Unexplored will become private boards for the RP Guild group.

6. The awarding of currency based on posts will also be modified. The only section retaining it's current level of payout will be the Training Dojo, and certain other "public" areas. All RP Guild boards payout will be cut off.

A list is being drafted, Goron, but I would say that it's safe to assume that if you've been granted Mod powers, you are not about to be tested on the fundamentals of RPing... unless you think you need a refresher course?

Seriously, the group changes and testing will be the LAST part to come into effect. This was to give everyone some heads up time, and make the transition as smooth as possible.

EDIT: Anyone who's a RP Master will (of course!) be granted automatic access to the RP Guild.

All Admins and Mods are given automatic access.

Anyone with a proven history of good RPing will be granted automatic access.

So, how does one get granted access?

I am currently the Sherrif of the town in the Wild West story, and all hecks a gonna bust loose if'n I caint get there to calm them varmits down.

I believe I have most of the people who belong in the RP Guild added... if you feel that you've been missed and should be in the group without any additional practice, send me a PM. It's nearing 11:30PM, and this horsey has to go to school in less than seven hours.

You would be correct, Shadowveil... the idea being by keeping the RP boards for newcomers simple, it will be much easier to teach and guide their progress, for those who need it.

I know...

Unfortunately, there are going to be some disruptions... I'm at school for the moment so no access to live discussion with Au'Mauri or the other Mods, but there will likely be some rearrangement of threads and/or boards as well.

The Dojo has been growing unchecked, and it may soon be necessary to prune down our total number of boards to a more manageable level.

With the current lull between Olympic rounds and the recent upsurge of problems, this really is the best time to do some overhauling. Modifications should be completed shortly.

I have always questioned DP's choice of admins. He always picks the college students! You know, then ones that need to study and such. Razz
