Ok, I know I'm a little late and stuff, but what netdroid said is true. We all feel threatend of are works. Plus your using the excuse of religeon (No offense to anyone religious) against us makes me feel even more threatend and angry. If you need a resond why getting threatend with religeon makes me angry, then I'll be pleased to tell you. Yea, so just appoligseing if I'm getting too rough.
I'm just going to say this once more becuse I can't stress it enough: If something is bothering you or making you angry, go away and do something else!
If something makes youn furious and angred everytime, go away and never come back!
If we arn't bugging you, then welcome to Blackstar! What? Someone has to do it!
You guys are starting to head up on the border of unbileavible rebuttles. And I have a feeling that you want to fight instead of accept our advice. Not to mention making it harder for us to help you. I don't want to sound harsh, but why must you be so compessed to put a end to our RPs when you can stick with the advice we given you and put it to use?
Oh, I suggest you follow Coud's advice the most, it's more helpful and more calmer then some of mine |

I fell saddened that many of you feel free from blame. My youngest is gradually getting worse, so I decided to have a browse around your little forum. I have also noticed my boy has been going to a place called gamewaredevelopment a lot too, where they have an RPG board, and I have also looked at their forums. I have a good mind to get in touch with them, especially since they are a company, but I'll take this one step at a time, starting with this forum.
Here are some of the activities I've noticed here, which I believe may have an adverse effect on younger children:
1. You all seem to bully this poor man called Cornelius in a variety of grusome ways. Bullying is wrong, and so is murder. One of the commandments is "thou shalt not kill", yet you all enjoy doing the exact opposite.
It wouldn't be quite as bad if he stayed dead, but he comes back like some soulless incarnate, only to be brutally killed again. This obviously goes against the teachings of our lord, reincarnation is for some other incorrect religion, and brings your bloodlust to light yet again!
2. There's a guy going around persuading people to wear tutus! I prayed he would be a girl, but I noticed people referring to him as a male! I'm glad my son hasn't adopted this behaviour, I'd be very angry if he turned out to be homosexual because of this!
3. You all claim to be gods or something. We all know there is one true Lord, so you can stop being so ignorant and blasphemous.
4. Most of your topics involve fighting, thus promoting violence further, and proving to me even more that you are all in favour of the ways of Satan.
5. One topic in particular had advice on sex problems! Going into great detail on some aspects of that! This is completely unacceptable.
So, look over this list again, and then try and tell me you are all decent, upstanding members of society! Frankly, I'm appaulled at how accessible this sort of tripe is on the Internet! |

1. Cornie is a joke and should be treated as such. Also from here let's not bring religion into this as debating about religion brings too many problems. We don't have to use Cornie but we do anyways.
2. Look at the movie called Step up and read my comment above.
3. It's a little thing called fantasy.
4. Only violence can stop violence. If you don't understand what I mean then look at the war going on. In order to stop a war people must fight. Same thing with bullying because it won't stop untill you fight back.
5. No comment.
Also please leave the people at Gameware alone. Most of the community are hard at work with projects that are involved with a simulation game called Creatures. Also Gameware is hard at work with a project that will give Gameware more recognition and a better chance of getting a new Creatures game. _________________

You're one of those people who think The Onion is serious, who won't let their kids read fantasy for fear of them coverting to some 'satanist' religion or something.
I despise your kind, you religious zealots.
You're why I'm agnostic.
If you think roleplaying is worshipping of your devil, then what do you think about little kids? Their imagination, their games of 'Let's Pretend?'
They are roleplaying, are they not?
Did you punish your child if, and when, you discovered about his imagining games?
On one last point, crossdressing is no sign of homosexuality. I have several good friends who are bisexual, and that insult was one of the major causes of my post. _________________ Shaon Galatea -- Artist | Musician | Radio DJ | Voice Actor | Writer |

I have the same feelings for you guys as Shaon. It was your kind of type that gives me a bad outlook at christans I never asked for or wanted in the first place. We all did are best to keep cool but this is where we are drawing the line.
I noticed that you make no comment and ignore it when we guve you advice.
It's not a very good thing to do, it makes you look bad. Even when we don't fight, you just pretend it's a arguement. Cut it out, and bring your tourches elsewhere!
And if you really are planning on bring manners to Gameware, don't. Most of them are nice people who have no assotiation with RPing or this board what. So. Ever. Their all hardworking people like us and it would be stupid, unfair, and mean to take your anger out onto them just becuse were allies in a way.
Ok, let's cut a deal. You, your friend, and your children leave Blackstar and Gameware alone for the rest of enternity and we won't bug you two anymore for the rest of eternity. Deal? It's a win-win. |

If you think role-playing is devil worshiping, get this through your head... IT IS FAKE. ROLE PLAYING IS PRETEND.
If you still think it is, it's just like a video game. OMG! I PLAY VIDEO GAMES! Therefire I must worship the devil!
It's also like writing/reading fanfiction. If qhat you say was true, which it isn't, then all fiction stories are probably Satanic and evil.
I had no idea that people could be this obsessed with religion. I always thought that really religious people were respectful and accepting of other people's thoughts. Obviously, I was wrong.
If pretending is evil, what do you call children's games? What about TV? What about books? What about everything else about pretending?
I don't know why I just wasted my time trying to talk some sense into this zealot. I know he will just ignore everyone's advice and continue to verbally abuse us all. _________________

Now don't worry Somefreakoverthere, quite frankly these people are mad, and should be labled as such. It's us against them, and they, thankfully are the minority. Pull yourself together, and if possible hold your head up high; your part of Blackstar, we, as a whole, are with you, and we can stand tall against encrazed madmen.

As for Mr. Paige, and Mr/M(z/s) Lee, I have but one comment to give you.
I am a 14 year old boy, RPing has become a big part of my computer use. As-of so far, I have yet to threaten people with knifes, or any of the symptoms your son seems to be facing. It seems to me that YOU are shifting the blame on us for your son's problem.
By the way, it's been proven that it is more hetrosexual men who crossdress, and I am neither encouraging people to wear Tutus or wear one myself, it is my sense of slapstick humor. A long running joke.

To the concerned parents:
I know you are concerned about your children being on here. And I'm sorry about their behaviour even though I am brand new here. But, if I was a parent, I would either block the site or I would just let my child participate as long as their behaviour is alright.
You can't just blame everyone on here for how your children are acting. For all you know your children could be crying out for attention. No offence, and I'm not trying to put down your parenting skills, But you can't protect your children forever.
I can understand your concern, but I don't see why you have to go off blaming everyone on this forum for your children's actions. You should take responsiblity for your child, for you are their parent. The mods, admin and the owner are not here to babysit your kids

You have much to say on the matter of spelling but I see a few mistakes in your own writings. You also ask a difficult question: What if the Matrix did not exist? How can one possibly answer this question as it was made. It's like saying what if that man had never lived, an unanswerable question.
I know you are probably bringing a crucial point to the table but your child would have found another way to act as he/she did. There are many films, games and even books that have a certain role play element in them but your child needs to realise it is fictional. |
It is hardly an unanswerable question - if the Matrix didn't exist, then the man could not have imitated it. If he was never born, the same would result. Other ways that my child can be influenced outside of the internet are much easier to handle - movies, games and books that I see as innappropriate are the ones that he doesn't read or touch, and if he were to, I would know about it.
Now 'Cloud', you have come to my point. I believe that an age limit of 13 is far too low, as children are still not of the age to properly differentiate fiction and reality. In their early teens, kids can be a bit rebellious (as many of you have been so eager to point out), and if somebody else says something, they figure 'why can't I?'. Since I have come to this site I have tried to explain to my son why what some of you have been doing is wrong, but he often asks why - it's not like he was really going to stab his cousin's hand to the piano, so why can't he say it? It is very difficult to explain that this is not how people interact in the real world when this is how some of you interact here. True, you could argue that this is a fantasy world, but why would you do it at all? I believe in the idea that in every bit of fiction there is some truth, and you all say that this is just for fun, that killing some people can be a 'joke' (according to the one known as 'Mag'), but why on earth do you feel this way?
| Cloud wrote: |
If you are so concerned you can easily block this website so you cannot go onto it and can even put a password onto it so only you can disable the block.
The best course of action you could take would be to talk to your children, explain the difference between fiction and the real world and always keep an open mind. |
I have already done these things (though I thank you for your sound advice), but as I have previously stated, as a parent, I cannot simply stand by and watch some other child more impressionable than my own take things too far. I'm not saying that this might happen to any one of you (some of you do seem a little more reasonable than others), but I can't deny the possibility in my mind that it will never happen in the future, and so I feel that something should be done about it.
| Cloud wrote: |
| I was about to end my statement there but I feel another point is in order. The Sensei aka the creator of this website has no direct control over what is posted here and he can't very well sift through every single post on here. If you notice you can report certain posts as well if anyone is offended or disgusted you can just click the report button to bring it to the administrators attention. What more can be done to prevent abusive or offensive content being posted? |
Although I don't have all that much experience with forums, I do know that the one in charge has quite a lot of control over what's said. This 'Sensei' is able to delete posts, to ban users, as well as many other things, and if he's in charge, I would think that he'd want to take the time to look for material that might be a bad influence on young teens. It's all good and well to say that there's a button to push, but nobody seems willing to press it - so far not one person has said anything in remote agreeance with myself or Mr Paige, and given that many of the overly violent posts I've seen have been there for quite some time, nobody here seems to mind them.
'Fort', I am pleased to hear that one so young as yourself is able to differentiate between reality and fiction, and understands social interaction well enough to know not to either stab or threaten to stab someone's hand. However, I seriously doubt that you make up the majority of 14 year olds, and I don't think you'd be able to argue that. My point is that whilst all of you might be fine with RPing, there exists the opportunity for young teens who are either very impressionable, don't fully understand the difference between reality and fantasy or simply don't understand how to interact properly with others in a social environment, and I'd rather do something about it before that happens.
(Apologies for any spelling or grammatical mistakes I may have made in this or any of my previous posts. I was fairly sure that I hadn't made any, but if you feel that I have then MS Word's spellchecker isn't as good as I thought it was.) |

Mr Lee, you seem to surprise me. You act as if it is impossible for a tween, a asdolecence, or even a youth to behave and are capable of thinking for ourselfs. Sure, some kids are like that, but it's a small fraction. And why must you bug us so? And as others say, we are NOT responsible for what your child dose outside of Blackstar.
We are not even responsible for your child reaching and reading the site! The internet, as you know, is a free-for-all place. And I know it's hard to monitor children when on the internet, but you make it sound like you don't even try.
And must you argue with us becuse we simply feel that we have no need to push the report button? Look here, you are signed up here. And thrus you are given the choice to report a offending post. So, if you find a post offending, then how about YOU report it instead of moaning about it infront of our faces!
Although we can help you by giving advice on how to handle your child by posting here in the first place, why must you bother us? You would recive much less argues and flames that way. Instead, complain about it bto compassonaite familey members and friends who understand! If you want pity, that's the way to go. Just some advice for future problems. |

I'm agreeing with Leporidae. We can think for ourselves. We aren't responsible for your children's actions. If you are so concerned about your child, then talk to him about it! Don't whine to us about it, please.
We are just a forum, a bunch of people Roleplaying and such. We are trying to not be offensive. But you come on here whinning to us, you can report posts you do not like. But as said, Admins can't read every single thing that is posted throughout the day. I'm sure many people here have a life outside of Blackstar.
But I still can't believe you signed up for Blackstar just to rant at us about your childs behaviour. It is your child, if you are so concerned about Blackstar and think we are such violent people, then stop coming here and block the site.
If you can't deal with their violent behaviour, then that's not our problem either. How your child acts cannot be blamed on the people in a forum, and what they may do and/or say in real life, is not, and I repeat not our responsibility.
And as I've said, I'm sorry about how your child(ren) are behaving suddenly. But if you look around I'm sure there are other things contributing to this, and that it's not just Blackstar. |

Wow, that's really great guys, let's just solve a problem by flaming and bashing heads. You know what? Whilst we're at it, let's goad them into reporting every single post that they find offensive and give DP a mountainload of work which he really doesn't need. I'm sure that will make everything go away.
Seriously, what the hell? You can't simply say "there's no way I'm responsible" - are you saying that if a kid's face popped up on the news and the newsreader announced that they'd been immitating something that you'd done, you'd wouldn't feel even the slightest shred of guilt?
To the concerned parents, I personally am not responsible for all that goes on in these forums, and I feel that I should apologize for the rude treatment you've received from some of our members. Just so you know, I am responsible for the content of the Archives, and if something bad were to happen to someone as a direct result of someone imitating what they read there, I would feel at least partially responsible for that. For now, the most I can do is put age warnings on some of the more violent or graphic threads - would this be appropriate? _________________ If I'm not here, I'm probably over at...

I'm not responsible either. I understand what you mean, I would feel quite a bit guilty if that happened. Which is why I act as responsible as possible. I just joined Blackstar earlier today. There is no possible way I could of influenced the kids of any of the concerned parents.
As I've said I am sorry if I've come across as offencive. I try my hardest to not offend people, even though sometimes my attempts don't work and I end up being offencive. Which I am sorry for.
Age limits on more violent and/or graphic threads would be a good idea, I agree with it. But some people might not care if there is an age limit on it. |

How can you know this? Are you a time travelling super god that can change the past to see what would happen if the Matrix did not exist? This man would have found another medium in which to insite violence. Also I believe it was a ploy. I saw the documentary about that case (or a similar one?) and they just looked about his room, saw Matrix posters and used that so the man would serve a lighter sentence. After all Lawyers tend to do that for the benefit of their client.

Now you are not listening Mr Jenson. How would you control what your child watches, plays or reads? Simple! You stop your child from watching/playing/reading these things. The internet is the same! There are many features incorporated into Windows e.g. Parental Locks. If these are insufficient or you do not know how to use them contact Microsoft.
| LeeJenson476 wrote: |

So tell me how would you put age restrictions on here? Enter Date of Birth? Easy to get around. Tick Box? Easy to get around also. In conclusion to this paragraph there is nothing we can do about it but there are things YOU can do. (See above paragraph: The Seminar on Parental Locks)

This part of your text got me thinking. On one hand there is freedom of speech so technically your son can say these things. After all it isn't against the law. It is if your son did these things that would mean he was in the wrong. Now I know I am probably going to get an earful from you for saying that but it is the governments of the world that made what I have said true. The best course of action would be to again stress to your child the difference in fantasy and reality.

This is a point that is stretched across most forms of entertainment be it music, flims, games or even books. Take most horror films. Do you think the writers really believe in mass slaughter or do you think they are trying to entertain the audience? So in conclusion to this paragraph, if you have a problem with this website then you have a problem with most films. (Did watching star wars make you want to wield a lightsaber and kill people?)

The Sensei knows that this is all Roleplay. He knows that when playing Final Fantasy you can use magic but in reality you cannot.

Now I'm realising I should have taken the red pill rather than listen to this. (Bad Joke. I do not believe I am in the Matrix or do I believe this film exists it was just my attempt at lightening the mood.)

(Apologies for any spelling or grammatical mistakes I may have made in this or any of my previous posts. I was fairly sure that I hadn't made any, but if you feel that I have then MS Word's spellchecker isn't as good as I thought it was.) |
I believe your spellchecker is probably in US mode and considering I am from the good old UK there are some differences. I apologise for my rashness on this topic but I was merely pointing out that you cannot mock other peoples spelling when yours is not that impressive. The fact you use a word processor to check your spelling is cheating a little since we know nothing of your spelling skills now.
Now I know I've been serious long enough (the second to last paragraph says it all really) so I will end this very bold statement (Not a rant but a statement that addresses all of Mr Jensons questions and hopefully levitates them, I mean alleviates them) on a silly phrase:
The green tables were left upright this easter, which was very bad for when Santa Claus came he didn't like green at all. _________________
